Reflexology is a holistic therapy which aims to reduce stress, balance and promote the body's own healing process and well-being.

The theory behind this therapy is that all the systems and organs of the body correspond to points in the smaller peripheral areas such as the feet and hands. The application of pressure to these reflex points, aims to restore balance within the body and mind.  The art of reflexology dates back to Ancient Egypt, India and China, in Japan it is know as Zoku Shin Do, with western reflexology being introduced in the early 1900's.

What Can I Expect?

A tailored treatment plan will be created, starting with an initial consultation that will consider both the physical and emotional aspects that maybe affecting your health and well-being. All information is kept confidential between the therapist and client. Following this a course of treatments can be decided upon to best suit your needs.

During the treatment, as the reflect points are manipulated, you may feel sensitivity in some areas but should feel an overall sense of relaxation and calm.

After the treatment you should feel a sense of well-being, your sleep may improve and your mood lifted but on occasion clients can feel tired and emotional, experience headaches or bodily aching which signifies the body's reaction to the elimination of toxins as the body re-balances itself. These reactions are normal and should not last long but if you experience any severe pain or discomfort seek advice from your GP
